Police Are Called On Boy Selling ‘Ice Cold Beer’ But His Clever Sign Has Them In Tears

Some individuals seem to have a natural knack for business, combining determination, persistence, and a willingness to take calculated risks. This combination results in new success stories emerging every day.

In Utah, an 11-year-old boy named Seth demonstrated his budding entrepreneurial spirit with a clever strategy to attract customers to his lemonade stand. Instead of a typical sign, Seth boldly advertised “Ice Cold Beer,” which immediately drew attention. The eye-catching sign piqued curiosity, and who wouldn’t be intrigued by such an offer?

While some neighbors found the tactic clever and innovative, others were concerned, believing that a child might be selling actual beer. This concern led to several 911 calls.

Before long, a few officers arrived at Seth’s stand. However, instead of reprimanding him, they couldn’t help but chuckle at the situation and even posed for a few photos.

As it turned out, Seth was selling root beer, not alcoholic beer. The word “root” was written in small green letters, making “BEER” the most prominent part of the sign. The Brigham City Police Department praised Seth for his creativity, recognizing that, at just 11 years old, he already possessed the mindset of a true entrepreneur. They predicted that he would go on to achieve even greater things in the future.

When Seth’s story spread online, it sparked a wave of comments. One person remarked, “He’s savvy, neat, and clean! Hardworking and thinking about what appeals to the public… he can go anywhere with that mindset! And with that community of great police officers supporting him, he’s already got mentoring!!! Love this!”

While some people criticized the individual who reported Seth, others, including the police, took a more understanding stance. The Brigham City Police Department stated, “Our citizens should never feel ashamed or embarrassed to call us. They were just calling in what they felt was a suspicious circumstance. No harm, no foul.”

The officers ended up purchasing a few root beers from Seth and even helped promote his stand on their social media. Seth’s story serves as a reminder of the creativity and ingenuity that can emerge at any age, and how a little boldness can lead to great opportunities.
