The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) denied the trademark registration due to regulations prohibiting businesses from using names of actual locations. According to The Telegraph, the name “American Riviera” is a reference to Santa Barbara, California, where the Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry, and their two children live.

This news comes as Prince William makes his first public appearance since returning from a summer holiday. He was seen with a stubbled look while attending an exhibition on homelessness.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had first showcased William’s new, more rugged appearance in an unexpected video last month, where they were congratulating Team GB on their Olympic success.
