Kanye West seemingly shares motive after wife’s stunt at Grammys

On February 4, Kanye West finally broke his silence on social media, appearing to take pride in the attention surrounding the dramatic stunt he and his wife, Bianca Censori, pulled at the Grammy Awards.

Known for his boundary-pushing style, the 47-year-old rapper has consistently used fashion and controversy to fuel headlines. His wife, 30-year-old Australian model Bianca Censori, has also made a name for herself in the world of bold and unconventional fashion. Over the past year, her daring outfits have sparked conversation, but her Grammy look pushed things further than ever before.

As the couple arrived at the event, Censori turned heads in a floor-length black fur coat, concealing what lay beneath. As cameras flashed, she suddenly slipped off the coat, revealing a sheer, skin-tight dress that left almost nothing to the imagination. Gasps rippled through the crowd as she confidently posed alongside her husband.

But what appeared to be a bold fashion statement took a darker turn when a lip reader analyzed an exchange between West and Censori. According to lip-reading expert Nicola Hickling, who spoke with the Daily Mail, the moment wasn’t as spontaneous as it seemed. Hickling claims that as Censori stood with her back to the cameras, West whispered to her: “You’re making a scene now.” He then encouraged her further, reportedly saying, “Make a scene, I’ll say it’ll make so much sense.”

Censori appeared to nod in agreement before West allegedly instructed, “Drop it behind you and then turn, I got you.” To which she responded, “All right, let’s go.”

The lip reader’s interpretation set social media ablaze. Concerned fans and critics alike flooded online platforms, expressing outrage at the alleged manipulation behind the moment.

“Here we have Bianca Censori, Kanye West’s wife, at the Grammys. This is typical ‘fashion’ for her. Girl, blink if you need help,” one user tweeted.

Another chimed in, “Such an obvious attempt at objectifying her. It almost looks like humiliating her is part of the relationship.”

A third took things even further, labeling West’s treatment of Censori as cruel and controlling. “It’s inconceivable his wife wanted to disrobe in public, look at her eyes, there’s fear. She should divorce the SOB for marital cruelty & abuse. No caring loving husband would pull such stunts.”

Speculation quickly followed that the couple had been asked to leave the event due to the controversy. However, a source close to West denied this claim, telling The Sun, “Ye always planned to do the red carpet and leave—he’d never sit through the Grammys because it’s so dull and boring.” The insider went on to dismiss the idea that this was a desperate stunt, explaining, “To Ye, this is his art. He turned up, made headlines around the world, and left. No one told him what to do, and even if they had, he wouldn’t have listened.”

Another source defended the moment, saying that Censori had been completely on board. “Bianca was loving life and had a great time,” they insisted. “She’s a muse for Ye, and there’s no coercion involved. This is what Ye does—he makes a statement, and the whole world talks about it.”

And talk they did.

On February 4, West shared several social media posts boasting about the attention the stunt had generated. One image highlighted that searches for “Bianca Censori Grammys” had surpassed searches for “Grammy winners 2025.” Another post, later deleted, revealed that Americans had spent more time searching for Censori’s outfit than for Grammy-related searches involving Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, Benson Boone, Chappell Roan, and Doechii combined.

While West seemed pleased with the outcome, the online reaction was far less favorable.

“You’re using your wife’s body to get relevant? That’s sad,” one comment read, racking up thousands of likes.

Another user dismissed his social media flex, writing, “That ain’t something to be proud of.”

A third pointed out the obvious: “Yes bro, ‘cus she was naked. Going naked to the Grammys makes headlines. Who would’ve thought?”

One particularly cutting remark referenced West’s four children—daughters North, 11, and Chicago, 7, and sons Saint, 9, and Psalm, 5—whom he shares with ex-wife Kim Kardashian. “[You] got daughters, bruv,” the user wrote, implying the stunt was hypocritical given his concerns about how his children are portrayed in the media.

The spectacle left people divided. Some saw it as another calculated move from a marketing mastermind, while others viewed it as another instance of West’s increasingly controversial behavior.
