Arizona Plane Crash: What Happened in the Fatal Collision at Scottsdale Airport

A tragic accident unfolded at Scottsdale Airport when a Learjet 35A veered off the runway after landing, crashing into a parked Gulfstream 200 business jet. The incident, which occurred on Monday afternoon, February 10, left one person dead and several others injured, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Emergency crews responded swiftly to the crash site, where Scottsdale Fire Captain Dave Folio confirmed that five individuals were involved. One person succumbed to their injuries, while two others sustained critical wounds and were rushed to a trauma center. Another individual suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and one person declined medical treatment.

The FAA reported that the crash happened around 2:45 p.m., leading to an immediate suspension of flights at the airport. Just minutes later, at 2:50 p.m., Scottsdale Airport issued a statement on X (formerly Twitter), confirming that the accident took place upon the Learjet’s arrival at runway 21.

Authorities noted that the parked Gulfstream 200 was on private property when it was struck. Emergency responders, including firefighters, police, and FAA investigators, remain at the scene as the runway remains closed while investigations continue.
