After-party cancelled: What Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce did after the Super Bowl

After months of anticipation, the Kansas City Chiefs’ dream of making history with an unprecedented Super Bowl three-peat came to a devastating end. In a high-stakes showdown under the bright lights of New Orleans, the Chiefs suffered a crushing 40-22 defeat against the Philadelphia Eagles, extinguishing their championship hopes and leaving fans in disbelief.

For Travis Kelce, the loss was particularly painful. Known for his ability to shine in the biggest moments, the 35-year-old tight end had an unusually quiet night. He didn’t record a single reception in the first half—an extremely rare occurrence for one of the league’s most dominant playmakers. By the final whistle, he had managed just four catches for 39 yards, a stark contrast to his usual standout performances.

After the game, still dressed in his retro ’70s-inspired outfit, Kelce bypassed any team gatherings and headed straight to Taylor Swift’s suite. The Chiefs had initially planned a post-game celebration, but the somber mood in the locker room led to its cancellation. Instead of celebrating another championship, the team was left reflecting on what went wrong, while Kelce found solace in the company of Swift, who has been a constant presence at his games since they began dating in 2023.

With the season now over, questions about Kelce’s future in the NFL have only grown louder. While he hasn’t made an official decision regarding retirement, the conversation surrounding his next steps is intensifying. Before the game, he acknowledged that he had been thinking about life after football but expressed his continued passion for the sport, stating, “I love doing this. I love coming into work every day. I feel like I’ve still got a lot of good football left in me. We’ll see what happens.”

As the offseason begins, Kansas City faces the looming question of whether Kelce will return for another season or if this was his final appearance in a Chiefs uniform. Though the night didn’t end with another championship trophy, he at least had the unwavering support of one of the world’s most influential pop stars, Taylor Swift, by his side.
