Constant coughing or mucus buildup? Try this powerful onion remedy

A Simple Onion Remedy That May Support Lung Health

Onions are more than just a kitchen staple — they’ve been valued for centuries as a natural aid for respiratory comfort. Rich in quercetin and sulfur compounds, onions may help reduce inflammation, loosen mucus, and support overall lung function.

Traditionally used to ease coughs and congestion, onions continue to attract interest from natural-health enthusiasts for their potential role in respiratory care.

How It Works

Quercetin, a plant-based antioxidant, acts as a natural antihistamine that may help calm irritated airways. Meanwhile, sulfur compounds support the body’s detox processes and aid in breaking down mucus, helping clear the lungs more efficiently.

When combined, these elements can help ease discomfort from congestion, especially when paired with good habits such as staying hydrated, using steam inhalation, and avoiding processed or mucus-forming foods.
