Lady Sarah McCorquodale, elder sister of Diana, Princess of Wales, has been hospitalized after suffering serious injuries in a horse-riding accident. She is 70 years old.
According to her brother, Earl Spencer, during a podcast appearance he said:
“Sarah, who is almost a decade older than me and has always had a knack for getting into trouble, had a really bad fall last month and has been in hospital for some time.”
He described her recovery as challenging and shared that medical staff had found her to be “a demanding patient.” He quoted a lead doctor addressing her husband:
“She’s quite a character, isn’t she?”
Despite the incident, Lady Sarah’s resilience is well established. She once dated the then-Prince Charles and later helped introduce him to her sister Diana, a match that changed royal history. She remains the aunt of Prince William and Prince Harry, and has typically lived a more private life compared to Diana.
Earl Spencer also reflected on how the Spencer family continues to deal with public fascination about Diana’s legacy, noting how strangers still approach him to recount where they were when she died.
