Body language expert spots chilling detail about backpack of masked person at Nancy Guthrie’s home

The search for Nancy Guthrie has taken another unsettling turn, as experts continue to analyze newly released surveillance footage from her Tucson home.

Nancy, 84, vanished from her residence on February 1. Blood found at the scene intensified fears, prompting a large-scale investigation that has now stretched into its twelfth day. The FBI’s release of Nest doorbell footage marked the first public look at the masked individual seen outside her home in the early morning hours.

The Surveillance Footage

The footage shows a lone figure dressed in light-colored clothing, wearing gloves and a balaclava, carrying what appears to be a firearm and a backpack. The person is seen near the front door, seemingly tampering with the camera.

Former FBI agent Mark Harrigan previously noted the unusual way the suspect carried the firearm — exposed and positioned toward the front of the body — calling it “very non-conventional.” According to him, such positioning could suggest inexperience or unfamiliarity with handling weapons during a crime.

A Backpack That Raises Questions

Now, body language analyst Susan Constantine has highlighted another detail: the suspect’s backpack.

Constantine observed that the backpack appears “already full” before the individual approaches the house. In her view, this detail is significant.

She suggested that in typical burglary scenarios, perpetrators often arrive with space in their bags to carry stolen items — and often work in teams, each assigned a role such as lookout, entry, or perimeter monitoring. The fact that this person appeared alone, entering through the front area rather than discreetly from the side or rear, struck her as unusual.

Because of those factors, Constantine indicated she does not believe the footage reflects a routine burglary.

Gait and Missing Gear

Former CIA officer and FBI special agent Tracy Walder also weighed in, focusing on the suspect’s walk and equipment.

Walder noted that while the gait may not be overtly distinctive to the public, law enforcement can analyze movement patterns carefully for identification clues. She also expressed surprise that the individual did not appear to be wearing night-vision equipment, which might be expected in a premeditated nighttime operation.

These assessments, while speculative, underscore how investigators analyze even the smallest behavioral cues in high-profile cases.

New Ransom Developments

Adding further tension, reports indicate that a third ransom note has allegedly been received. This note reportedly includes a demand involving a different Bitcoin wallet and references a request for payment in exchange for revealing a name.

Authorities have not confirmed the authenticity or credibility of the latest message, but it has reportedly been turned over to the FBI for examination.

The note’s alleged closing words — “Time is more than relevant” — have heightened public concern, though officials continue to withhold critical details as the investigation unfolds.

Where Things Stand

Law enforcement has not publicly confirmed the suspect’s identity or whether the person seen in the footage is directly responsible for Nancy’s disappearance. Investigators are continuing to evaluate physical evidence, digital traces, ransom communications, and behavioral patterns.

At this stage, expert commentary remains analysis — not conclusion.

For Nancy’s family, including her daughter Savannah Guthrie, and for the broader community, the hope remains the same: clarity, accountability, and above all, Nancy’s safe return.

Cases like this often generate intense public speculation, but ultimately, it is the evidence — not impressions — that will determine what truly happened.
