Formerly believing that he would never be able to have children, Anderson Cooper is now the delighted father of two sons

Anderson Cooper, the 54-year-old CNN anchor, defied his younger self’s belief that he wouldn’t have a family. Having come out as gay at the age of 12, Cooper now proudly embraces fatherhood with two sons.

His first son, Wyatt Morgan, was born in April 2020. The name “Morgan” has familial significance, considering it was a name considered on his late mother Gloria Vanderbilt’s side and named after his late father, Wyatt Emory Cooper.

In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres’ EllenTube, Cooper humorously admitted to buying numerous parenting books but never reading them. Despite the lack of preparation, he expressed joy in every aspect of parenthood, crediting the support from his ex-husband and co-parent, Benjamin Maisani.

The family recently expanded with the arrival of Sebastian Luke Maisani-Cooper. Cooper shared this news on his program, “Anderson Cooper 360,” and revealed that Maisani is in the process of adopting Wyatt.

Sebastian, born healthy and content, is already making an impression with his sporadic hiccups. Cooper, expressing love for Maisani as his dearest friend, is determined to co-parent both sons. Despite the initial challenges, he feels “definitely calmer” as a first-time father this time around.
