Michael Bublé performed for Pope Leo XIV during the Vatican’s sixth Concert for the Poor in 2025. The event took place in the Paul VI Audience Hall and featured a 50-minute set from the Canadian singer. Bublé appeared visibly emotional about the occasion and told the audience that it was the greatest moment of his life.

One of the concert’s central performances resulted from a conversation before the event. Bublé asked Pope Leo XIV whether he wanted to hear a particular song, and the pontiff chose “Ave Maria.” Bublé had sung the piece only once before, but he agreed to honor the request and included it in his Vatican program.
