Demi Moore dons jaw-dropping dress to Met Gala – made from wallpaper and took 11,000 hours to embroider

As expected, the 2024 Met Gala showcased a variety of unique and extravagant outfits, but Demi Moore undoubtedly made one of the most memorable impressions of the night. Making her first appearance at the event in five years, the 61-year-old actress stunned the crowd by walking the red carpet in a gown made entirely of wallpaper.

Moore’s dress featured heart-shaped wings that extended from her sides, along with a pink-and-white floral pattern that she complemented with diamond jewelry from Cartier. Her bold choice quickly caught the attention of photographers and fans worldwide, with many praising the daring ensemble. Despite its elaborate appearance, Moore revealed that the dress was surprisingly lightweight and even made her feel like dancing.

The gown, designed by Harris Reed, was crafted from vintage archival wallpaper and took an impressive 11,000 hours of silk embroidery to complete. Reed explained that the inspiration for the outfit came from a Cartier necklace Moore wore, which evoked a floral theme. The designer envisioned the dress as a representation of Moore “blooming on the carpet,” with the vines symbolizing the connection between her and the thorns.

This appearance marked Moore’s return to the Met Gala after her last attendance in 2019, where she opted for a sleek all-black Saint Laurent gown with a plunging neckline. More recently, the Indecent Proposal star turned heads at Dolce & Gabbana’s 40th anniversary party, where she wore a see-through black dress paired with simple black undergarments and heels. Moore’s understated makeup and flowing dark hair completed the look, earning her widespread admiration on social media for her timeless beauty.

Fans couldn’t help but marvel at Moore’s age-defying appearance, with one Instagram user commenting, “She looks unreal for her age. BRAVO.” Another noted, “Her and Cher I swear are vampires and the most beautiful women in Hollywood.”

Moore continues to captivate audiences with her fashion choices and undeniable elegance, proving that age is no barrier to making a statement on the red carpet.
