Many people who work as a handyman find that it is an interesting job. They never know what they are going to run into from one day to the next and sometimes, they may even be in for a surprise or two.

If there is one thing that any repairman will tell you, it’s the fact that they need to listen to what is told to them as far as instructions are concerned.

If you don’t listen to the instructions, you might find yourself in some trouble and the repairman in this story found himself in a very bad situation.

Laura’s dishwasher quit working so she called a repairman. Since she had to go to work the next day, she told the repairman, “I’ll leave the key under the mat. Fix the dishwasher, leave the bill on the counter, and I’ll mail you a check.

“Oh, by the way, don’t worry about my bulldog, Bob. He won’t bother you. But, whatever you do, do NOT, under ANY circumstances, talk to my parrot! I repeat, do not talk to my parrot!”

When the repairman arrived at Laura’s apartment the following day, he discovered the biggest, meanest looking bulldog he has ever seen. But, just as she had said, the dog just lay there on the carpet watching the repairman go about his work.

The parrot, however, drove him nuts the whole time with his incessant yelling, cursing, and name-calling.

Finally, the repairman couldn’t contain himself any longer and yelled, “Shut up you stupid, ugly bird!”

To which the parrot replied, “Get him, Bob!”

Working as a handyman can be full of surprises, as no two days are ever the same. From unexpected challenges to amusing encounters, there’s always something new around the corner. One thing every repairman quickly learns is the importance of following instructions carefully. Failing to do so can sometimes lead to unexpected, even tricky situations.

In this particular story, a repairman found himself in quite an unusual predicament. Laura, whose dishwasher had broken down, called a repairman to fix it. Since she had to work the next day, she left specific instructions for him. “I’ll leave the key under the mat,” she said. “Fix the dishwasher, leave the bill on the counter, and I’ll mail you a check.”

She also added a few more instructions: “Oh, by the way, don’t worry about my bulldog, Bob. He won’t bother you. But, whatever you do, do NOT, under ANY circumstances, talk to my parrot! I repeat, do not talk to my parrot!”

The next day, the repairman arrived at Laura’s apartment and encountered the largest, most intimidating bulldog he had ever seen. But, just as Laura had assured him, Bob the bulldog remained calm, simply lounging on the carpet, watching him as he went about fixing the dishwasher.

However, the parrot was a completely different story. From the moment the repairman stepped inside, the bird wouldn’t stop. It yelled, cursed, and hurled insults, making it almost impossible for him to concentrate on his work. Despite Laura’s warning, the repairman’s patience eventually ran out. He couldn’t resist any longer and finally shouted, “Shut up, you stupid, ugly bird!”

The parrot, not missing a beat, replied, “Get him, Bob!”
