Goldie Hawn, 78, posts vacation pictures in swimswit - 'a little tanning cream just saying'

For celebrities, being photographed is just part of the routine, and for someone like Goldie Hawn, it’s certainly no different. The actress, who has been in the public eye since her breakthrough role in Cactus Flower back in 1969, has faced her fair share of scrutiny. Over the years, her fame only grew, as did public interest in her life, relationships, and, more recently, her appearance.

Now 78 years old, Hawn, who shares a long-term relationship with actor Kurt Russell, was recently photographed while vacationing in a swimsuit, sparking a wave of reactions online. Some internet users had strong opinions about the actress’s appearance, while others came to her defense.

While Hawn has spent decades in the limelight and is no stranger to being photographed, it seems that even casual moments like these can draw significant attention. The actress, who shares one child with Russell and co-raised her children, Kate and Oliver Hudson, from a previous marriage, has always had a close relationship with the public. But like many stars, her appearance remains a focal point for some.

One comment online criticized Hawn’s lack of tan, stating, “I love her but I hate the color and style of this swimsuit. I believe a little tanning cream just saying.” Others critiqued her choice of swimwear itself, suggesting that certain styles may no longer be age-appropriate. One such remark read, “There comes a time when you should not wear some suits or shorts anymore.”

However, there were plenty of positive comments as well, praising Hawn for her confidence and appearance at 78. One admirer noted, “This is an amazing photo! I hope like HELL when I’m 78, I can stroll the beach in a bathing suit and a tiny cover and not gaf what anyone else thinks! 😊 I think she’s beautiful!”

Some internet users were also frustrated by the negativity surrounding the actress. “My God people, leave her alone. She looks great for her age. End of story!” one person responded in defense of Hawn.

Despite these varied reactions, Hawn has always been candid about the realities of aging and embraces it with grace. In an interview, she shared her perspective on getting older: “Getting older is a fact of life. By living mindfully, you understand that there are many transitions in life, [and] you just have to go through them,” she told People. “It’s wonderful to know that you’re aging because that means you’re still on the planet, right?”

Hawn is also aware of the bias against aging in Hollywood, but she approaches it with calm realism. “You think you’re going to fight the system? You think you’re going to prove to Hollywood when you hit 45 that you’re still a sexy, viable object? No. There’s a certain reality,” she told Bazaar. But her attitude remains refreshingly optimistic: “Does it make me angry? No. I’m not an angry person. I’m not a militant person. Anger doesn’t get you anywhere. It’s not productive.”

Even with the criticism she faces, it’s clear that Hawn’s confidence and mindset allow her to rise above it all. What do you think of Goldie’s swimsuit and her response to aging? Let us know in the comments!
