Optical illusions are among the most captivating visuals available.
When I first saw this picture, I was quite young. However, millions of people have viewed the image since it went live online. Due to its difficulty, this particular optical illusion is very popular, but only a small percentage of people are able to see it.
Millions of people struggle with these perplexing images, but they are unable to recognize the illusion and question what they are actually searching for.
Since 1888, the well-known image below has been in circulation all over the world. To put things in perspective, the first telephone line between Stockholm and Gothenburg was constructed in that year, and the first wax drinking straw was patented in 1888.
The postcard below was created for a company named “The Anchor Buggy Company” in Germany.
Initially, the postcards were distributed with no prior notice of their concealed images. However, soon after, people started to notice something odd about the postcard.
Are the two images in the portrait visible?
The illustration was created by W.E. Hill, a British cartoonist. All cute all the time explains that he knew what he was doing but thought no one would notice.
Hill carried on with his cartooning career after months of no one taking notice or caring. However, as word spread about his distinctive appearance, he quickly amassed thousands of admirers.
He called this illusion “Young- Girl Old-Woman” and it shows a younger girl looking away and an older woman looking down.
This image was the first of its kind and remained popular over the years, despite competition from newer images. The W.E. Hill image has been seen by millions of people, maybe even billions by now!
Take a look at the image above and check if you can see the double image!
As mentioned above, you should see a young woman looking away and an older lady looking down, looking somewhat melancholy.
Can you see both of them? If you need help, watch the video below!
