My Stepmom Told Me to Wash Dishes After Her Birthday Party Because I Didn’t Gift Her a Dishwasher – Karma Hit back for Her Audacity

When Mia’s stepmother, Trudy, planned an extravagant party for her 45th birthday, Mia had no choice but to help behind the scenes. Trudy, who had been married to Mia’s dad for two years, fit the “wicked stepmother” role perfectly, constantly bossing Mia around and treating her as if she were an unpaid servant.

Life with Trudy wasn’t easy, as she always seemed entitled to the best, expecting everyone, especially Mia, to cater to her every whim. Her birthday party was no exception, with over-the-top decorations, caterers, and enough food to feed a small army. Despite all this, Trudy expected Mia to contribute something significant for her gift. She even hinted that a dishwasher would be a suitable present.

Mia, however, was saving up for her prom dress, having earned money from babysitting. Yet, Trudy dismissed Mia’s concerns, insisting a dishwasher was more practical and that Mia could buy a cheap prom dress later. Not wanting to argue, Mia silently prepared for the party, knowing she’d have to endure Trudy’s overbearing attitude.

As the party got underway, Trudy soaked up the attention, treating herself like a celebrity while Mia worked in the background, refilling drinks and ensuring the event ran smoothly. It wasn’t until the end of the night that things took a turn. After everyone had sung “Happy Birthday” and enjoyed the cake, Trudy publicly shamed Mia for not buying her a present, insisting she wash all the dishes as a form of repayment. Mia, humiliated but calm, agreed and spent the next hour scrubbing dishes while the party wound down.

The next morning, Mia was awoken by the sound of Trudy’s screams from the kitchen. She rushed downstairs to find the room flooded and in disarray. Trudy had made the mistake of dumping meat oils down the sink, which had clogged the pipes, causing the kitchen to flood. The damage was extensive, and Trudy was beside herself with panic.

In a twist of fate, karma seemed to have delivered Trudy a lesson. With the kitchen repairs costing a fortune, Mia’s dad decided it was time to cut back on expenses. However, he insisted that Mia’s prom dress fund would not be touched. “You spoiled yourself for your party,” he told Trudy. “I can spoil my child for her prom.”

Trudy, realizing she had pushed too far, softened her attitude. She even allowed Mia to get a part-time job and offered to help her shop for the perfect prom dress. While Mia wasn’t sure if the change would last, it was clear that for now, Trudy had learned not to cross her father.

What would you have done in Mia’s situation?
