The popular country music performer Lauren Alaina has canceled her next shows in order to focus on her father’s passing. The singer of “Road Less Traveled” posted on social media, saying, “I really don’t have words yet. We lost my dad last night.”
Alaina announced to her fans that she would prefer to spend time with her family over doing shows in Savannah, Virginia Beach, and Charlotte. “I will be spending time at home with my family,” she wrote, expressing gratitude to her supporters for their “understanding and prayers.”
Numerous country music celebrities expressed their sympathy. “Lauren, I’m so sorry for your loss,” wrote Jake Owen in a letter. Love and strength from my family to you. “We will keep you and your family in our prayers,” MacKenzie Porter continued, and Martina McBride said, “Sending you so much love.”
In a poignant Instagram post, Alaina wished a happy Father’s Day to her father, “my old man,” who had a heart the size of Texas, just a few weeks before he passed away.
The reason behind her father’s passing has not been disclosed by Alaina, who was touring with Jason Aldean.
