At first, Ramaswamy, a biotech author and entrepreneur, was considered a strategic choice for DOGE, a program designed to reduce needless red tape and streamline government operations. He was well-liked by Trump’s advisors due to his reputation for creativity and disruptive thinking. Hours before the formal announcement, however, rumors circulated that Ramaswamy had turned down the role.
Others alluded to possible conflicts with his current business endeavors, which might make it difficult to meet the demands of the position.
