Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner’s child debuts new name

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner’s middle child made a heartfelt and personal revelation during a memorial service for their grandfather, William Garner, on Saturday. The 15-year-old, previously known as Seraphina Rose, introduced themselves as Fin Affleck while honoring their late grandfather in West Virginia.

Dressed in a suit and tie with a buzz cut, Fin confidently stepped forward during the service to read Chapter 16, Verse 8 from the Book of Proverbs. Their poised and meaningful participation in the memorial service highlighted their deep connection to family and their grandfather’s legacy.

Fin’s appearance at the event follows recent sightings where they were seen with their step-sibling, 16-year-old Emme, the child of Jennifer Lopez. Fin had also been spotted sporting a pink buzz cut during those outings, showcasing their evolving personal style.

Jennifer Garner shared news of her father’s passing over Easter weekend with a touching Instagram tribute. In her post, she reflected on his peaceful departure and celebrated his fulfilling life:

“My dad passed peacefully Saturday afternoon. We were with him, singing Amazing Grace as he left us (did we carry him across or scare him away—valid question). While there is no tragedy in the death of an 85-year-old man who lived a healthy, wonderful life, I know grief is unavoidable, waiting around unexpected corners.”

Garner expressed gratitude to Charleston Area Medical Center and City of Hope for giving her father more time to enjoy life in his cherished surroundings:

“He spent his final moments in his favorite spots—surrounded by daughters and grandchildren, cheering for his beloved Aggies, captaining a boat, and—most of all—next to his wife of 59 years, our Mom.”

Fin is the second of three children born to Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner. Their siblings include 18-year-old Violet Anne and 12-year-old Samuel. The family’s presence at the memorial service, including Fin’s meaningful tribute, underscored their unity and shared love for their late patriarch, William Garner.
