South Korean actress Kim Sae-ron, known for her roles in “The Man From Nowhere” and the Netflix series “Bloodhounds,” was found deceased in her Seoul apartment on February 16, 2025. She was 24 years old. A friend discovered her body after arriving for a scheduled meeting and promptly notified authorities. Police have stated that there are no immediate signs of foul play and are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding her death.
Born on July 31, 2000, Kim began her acting career at the age of nine, earning critical acclaim for her performances in films such as “A Brand New Life” (2009) and “The Man From Nowhere” (2010). Her role in “A Brand New Life” led to an invitation to the Cannes Film Festival, marking her as the youngest South Korean actress to attend the prestigious event. She continued to build a diverse portfolio with appearances in television dramas like “The Queen’s Classroom” (2013) and “Glamorous Temptation” (2015).
In May 2022, Kim was involved in a drunk driving incident in Seoul’s Gangnam district. She crashed her vehicle into a transformer, resulting in a power outage that affected approximately 57 nearby businesses for several hours.
Following the incident, she faced public criticism, issued a public apology, and was fined 20 million won (approximately $13,850). This event led to her withdrawal from ongoing projects and a hiatus from her acting career.
Despite the setback, Kim made a return to the screen with the 2023 Netflix series “Bloodhounds.” However, her career faced challenges, and she reportedly experienced financial difficulties, leading her to take on part-time work. Her management company at the time confirmed these reports but did not renew her contract.
Kim’s sudden passing has left the South Korean entertainment industry and her fans mourning the loss of a talented actress whose career was marked by both early success and personal challenges.
