Denise Alexander, a former cast member of “General Hospital,” pays tribute to her late co-star Jacklyn Zeman.

Denise Alexander, a General Hospital co-star, remembered Jacklyn Zeman, who died on May 9 from an early cancer battle. Zeman died three days after her 70th birthday and two weeks after her last General Hospital appearance on April 27. Alexander grieved Zeman and remembered her great message of fun, kindness, wit, intellect, and charity. Both actresses became close friends at General Hospital and off.

For General Hospital, Denise Alexander played Dr. Lesley Webber in 1973 and Jacklyn Zeman played Nurse Bobbie Spencer in 1977. Daytime television friendships are strong, as shown by their long friendship. Anthony Geary, who played Luke Spencer, praised Zeman on May 11 for her remarkable habit of never criticizing anyone in a competitive industry.

Soap opera executive producer Frank Valentini announced Zeman’s death, calling her a brilliant light and true professional who brought zest to her career.

Her General Hospital family mourned Zeman’s death and praised her kindness and legacy. Carly Spencer’s actresses Laura Wright and Tamara Braun mourned Zeman and praised his enthusiasm and spirit. Popular soap opera character Jacklyn Zeman died, but her memory will live on.
