Lip reader reveals five words Melania Trump whispered to President Trump during Vatican funeral

Melania Trump displayed a moment of poise and foresight that is currently going viral.

A brief conversation between the former First Lady and Donald Trump during Pope Francis’s tearful funeral in Vatican City has garnered online attention after a lip reader identified the four words Melania muttered that might have saved her husband from embarrassment.

A Light Prod at the Appropriate Moment

Foreign dignitaries, royalty, and world leaders were invited to exchange the traditional Catholic Sign of Peace as more than 250,000 mourners gathered in St. Peter’s Square to bid farewell to the late pontiff, who died on Easter Monday at the age of 88.

Melania and Donald Trump, seated front and center, looked momentarily uncertain as they shook hands with those in the vicinity.

“You should do it,” Melania said softly as she leaned in.

After responding with a gentle “Oh, okay,” he greeted everyone in his vicinity, including Queen Letizia, King Felipe VI of Spain, and President Alar Karis of Estonia. He then gave French President Emmanuel Macron a particularly cordial handshake.

Nicola Hickling, a lip reader, claimed that Melania’s tactful intervention was what kept everything moving along.

Melania Gets Acclaim for Her Style

Melania was celebrating her 55th birthday on the day of the high-profile service, so it was a poignant moment for her. Her appearance received a lot of praise because she respectfully adhered to the Vatican’s traditional dress code, despite the somber occasion.

Melania finished off her ensemble with a delicate diamond cross necklace, a sophisticated nod to the day’s significance, while sporting a calf-length black pencil skirt, a fitted blazer, closed-toe black pumps, and a traditional lace veil.

Witnesses praised her stately demeanor and immaculate dress, which complemented the atmosphere of the momentous occasion.

Internet Talk About Clothes — Not Just About Trump

Although the ceremony was still the main topic of discussion, some internet users focused on the former president’s suit selection, which was a mid-blue outfit with an American flag pin and a blue tie. Trump wasn’t the only world leader to be spotted wearing lighter hues, despite the Vatican’s official guidelines requesting dark suits and black ties.

Prince William wore a navy suit, sparking debate on social media, while Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and President Joe Biden were both seen wearing blue ties.

A Memorable Farewell

Leaders from more than 130 nations attended the funeral mass, which started with a customary antiphon before readings from the Bible in both Spanish and English and a final recitation praising the Pope and entrusting him to God.

Pope Francis’s desire to be buried in a plain underground tomb was granted when his coffin was transported from St. Peter’s Square to Santa Maria Maggiore following the ceremony. This made him the first Pope in more than a century to not be buried at St. Peter’s Basilica.

A small gesture between Donald and Melania, a handshake and a whispered reminder, turned into an unexpected highlight of the day as the world said goodbye to a beloved pope, demonstrating once more how the former First Lady’s quiet poise can make all the difference.
