Tragic Loss at Philippi Baptist Church Leaves Family and Friends Devastated

A Georgia community is in mourning after 15-year-old Aleia Kuhn tragically lost her life in an accident during a youth event at Philippi Baptist Church on June 18, 2025. Just weeks away from her 16th birthday, Aleia’s sudden passing has left her loved ones and community heartbroken.

A Mother’s Grief: “She Was My Backbone and Heart”

Aleia’s mother, Amanda Schroeder-Kuhn, poured out her sorrow in an emotional Facebook post, calling her daughter her “sweetest baby girl” and “forever angel.” She asked for prayers not only for herself and Aleia’s father, Christopher Kuhn, but also for Aleia’s siblings Corben and Colter, as the family faces a pain no parent should ever endure.

“She was too good for this earth but I’m too selfish to not want her back,” Amanda wrote.

“She loved Jesus every day and showed His love to everyone. I just wasn’t ready for Him to take her yet.”

She also offered special prayers for Carter Spence, whom Amanda described as “the love of her life.” The family thanked friends and supporters for their outpouring of love, promising to share funeral arrangements soon.

A Father’s Heartfelt Tribute: “I Hear Your Voice Continuously”

Shortly after Amanda’s post, Aleia’s father shared his own tribute, accompanied by a smiling photo of the two together.

“I hear your voice continuously! I hear you saying ‘I love you daddy.’ I will for the rest of my life!” Christopher wrote.

Christopher described his daughter as “beautiful, sweet, God-fearing,” and a true reflection of her deep faith. He praised her unwavering devotion to Jesus and expressed his sorrow while clinging to hope for a reunion one day in heaven.

“I was always proud of you. I miss you so much,” he added.

A Life of Kindness, Faith, and Joyful Spirit

Born on July 23, 2009, in Stockbridge, Georgia, Aleia was only 34 days away from her 16th birthday. She was preparing to enter 11th grade at Skipstone Academy in Griffin, where she excelled in her studies and was loved by many friends.

Despite her young age, Aleia left a profound impact on those who knew her. Her obituary described her short life as “immeasurable in impact”, adding:

“Though our selfishness wants her back, we know that if she had the choice, she wouldn’t come back. Heaven is too beautiful, and her joy there is complete. We will see her again.”

Family and Friends Share Heartfelt Tributes

As news of her passing spread, tributes flooded social media, each one echoing the deep love and admiration for Aleia.

Kelsey Kuhn described her as “a perfect angel who loved God deeply”, sharing that Aleia found joy in simple pleasures like Chick-fil-A, TikTok, and reading.

“She was too sweet for this world.”

Cheryl Parker Kuhn remembered Aleia as a joyful child, full of light and love. She recalled Aleia’s fondness for family, especially when babies were around, adding:

“Her faith stood above all. She wouldn’t choose to return from Heaven. I hope to see her again someday.”

Kali Hammond also posted a touching tribute:

“Fly high Aleia Kuhn. Keep shining down on us. #Forever15. Gone but never forgotten.”

A Community United in Grief and Love

While Aleia’s life was tragically brief, her lasting impact will be felt for years to come. Through her unshakable faith, joyful nature, and loving spirit, she leaves behind a legacy that continues to inspire all who knew her.
