💔 Honeymoon Horror in Shillong: A Tale of Love, Deception, and Murder
What should have been the joyful beginning of a marriage ended in tragedy in the hills of Shillong, India.
On May 20, businessman Raja Raghuvanshi arrived in the scenic city for his honeymoon with his new wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi. Days later, Raja’s body was discovered in a remote canyon — decomposing, stripped of his wedding ring, identification, and life.
The Shocking Investigation
At first, suspicion fell on Raj Kushwaha, believed to be Sonam’s lover. But investigators soon uncovered a darker truth: Sonam herself had orchestrated her husband’s murder.
Authorities allege she manipulated Raj with false promises of love and then recruited three accomplices — Vishal Singh, Anand Kurmi, and Akash Rajput — luring them with financial incentives.
Using phone records and location tracking, police say Sonam carefully monitored her husband’s movements, guiding the killers to him. Raja was likely ambushed and pushed into the gorge between May 23–24.
A Web of Betrayal
In a twist worthy of a crime thriller, Raj believed that once Raja was gone, he and Sonam would be together. But Sonam had yet another lover — and allegedly planned to eliminate Raj as well.
Her arrest on June 8 brought the chilling scheme to light. Confronted with evidence, Sonam reportedly confessed, leaving a trail of shock across India.
A Sacred Vow, Shattered
The case has left the nation stunned — a story of love turned to greed, trust twisted into betrayal, and vows desecrated by violence.
What began as a honeymoon ended as a nightmare, reminding many of the fragility of human intentions and the devastating cost of deception.
