The Network Mourns the End of an Era, Touching Millions of Hearts

Longtime Fox & Friends co-host Steve Doocy surprised viewers on May 1 with an announcement that marks the end of an era — and the start of a new chapter. After decades on the show’s iconic “curvy couch,” Doocy revealed he will be stepping away from the New York studio.

But he made one thing clear:

He isn’t leaving the show.

Doocy will remain a Fox & Friends host, broadcasting remotely from Florida and traveling the country as the program’s new “coast-to-coast host.” His role is shifting, not ending.

“I’m not stepping down,” he reassured. “I’m still part of the crew — just transitioning to a new chapter.”

For Doocy, the change is rooted in something simple and deeply personal: family. With three children, three grandchildren, and a fourth on the way, he says the new setup finally gives him what years of 3:30 a.m. wake-ups never could — mornings at home.

After decades of early alarms and studio lights, Doocy says he’s looking forward to something far sweeter:

sharing breakfast with his grandkids.

A new season, a new rhythm — and a familiar voice still at the heart of the show.
