Savant Kodi Lee’s WHOLESOME Duet with Leona Lewis on America’s Got Talent

Kodi Lee emerged as an online sensation through his audition for America’s Got Talent, where he earned a Golden Buzzer. Legally blind and diagnosed with autism, Lee demonstrated the exceptional musical gift that made him a savant, a rare phenomenon involving extraordinary ability alongside intellectual impairment.

For the show’s finals, Lee joined Leona Lewis, the winner of The X Factor, to cover Calum Scott’s “You Are The Reason.” Lewis had featured on an official duet rendition with Scott the previous year. The performance accompanied Lee’s victory in the competition.

Their collaboration exceeded 16.7 million YouTube views. Viewers praised Lewis for allowing Lee’s voice to remain prominent rather than overpowering him. The performance brought all four America’s Got Talent judges to their feet, while members of the live audience repeatedly chanted Kodi’s name.

Lee’s widely viewed performances helped him win the entire 14th season. The result also made him the first disabled contestant to claim the America’s Got Talent title in the program’s history.

Born in Temecula, California, Lee has optic nerve hypoplasia. He underwent life-saving surgery at five days old and later developed into a musical prodigy with perfect pitch and an audio photographic memory.
