Images of former favorite actor Chris Pine have generated a flurry of online responses as many are shocked by his almost unrecognizable look. Although some fans were interested, others were critical; some even likened him to someone living on the streets.
Pine was seen in Los Angeles in February 2022 sporting a white tank top that highlighted his toned arms, thick salt-and-pepper hair, and bushy gray beard—a rough contrast to his neat Star Trek era.
Responses on social media were varied. While some questioned, “He used to be so handsome,” others ridiculed his looks with statements like, “He looks like he could blend in with the homeless population.” What changed? Some fans, however, stayed faithful and dubbed him “still one of the most handsome men alive.”
Rising to prominence in the 2000s with guest television appearances, Pine made his film debut opposite Anne Hathaway in The Princess Diaries 2 (2004). His breakout came in 2009 when he was cast as James T. Kirk in the Star Trek reboot, catapulting him to worldwide fame.
Pine has welcomed different style changes throughout the years—from polished and clean-shaven to bald or strongly bearded. He has always played around with his appearance, despite reports that skin problems caused him to lose parts. Now, he seems to be concentrating more on just being himself than on looks.
