🚨 Ambulance Crash in Dougherty County Leaves 8 Injured, Including Newborn

DOUGHERTY COUNTY, Ga. — What began as a routine emergency transport turned into a terrifying scene Saturday morning when an ambulance carrying patients was struck in a multi-vehicle collision, leaving eight people injured — including a newborn baby.

Chaos at a Busy Intersection

The crash happened just after 7 a.m. at the intersection of Pine Avenue and Monroe Street, a normally busy crossing that was suddenly thrown into chaos.

The Dougherty County EMS ambulance rolled over from the impact. Witnesses described the scene as shocking — flashing lights, smoke, and the sound of sirens as additional emergency units rushed to help.

Who Was Inside the Ambulance?

Officials confirmed that at the time of the crash, the ambulance was carrying:

  • 3 EMS personnel

  • 2 patients (one of them the infant)

All were among the eight injured in the collision. Their conditions have not yet been fully disclosed, though authorities say emergency teams worked rapidly to stabilize the victims.

Community Impact

For locals, the accident was a chilling reminder of how quickly life can change — even for those already in the care of first responders. Many in the community have expressed prayers and support for both the injured patients and the EMS workers who put themselves on the line every day.

📌 Investigators are working to determine the cause of the crash, while the community waits anxiously for updates on the newborn and other victims.
