Céline Dion Lights Up Paris Fashion Week with a Surprise Runway Anthem

Paris Fashion Week received an unexpected appearance from Céline Dion on September 28, 2026. At Place Joffre, the Canadian singer brought the public Le Défilé L’Oréal Paris runway show to its close with an outdoor performance of her 2002 hit “I’m Alive,” set against the Eiffel Tower.

Although the showcase centred on women’s empowerment, Dion transformed its finale into a large-scale celebration. She performed for the energetic crowd in a sculptural black gown by Schiaparelli, complemented by Boucheron jewellery, and appeared commanding in front of the cameras.

L’Oréal Paris celebrity ambassadors came forward once the song was over. According to reports from France, Eva Longoria embraced Dion warmly, while Cara Delevingne offered a playful bow. Viola Davis, Jane Fonda and Kendall Jenner were also nearby, dancing during the joyful runway scene.

Kristian Lundin and Andreas Carlsson wrote “I’m Alive,” which opens A New Day Has Come, the album Dion released in 2002. The song achieved solid international success in the early 2000s, but its words acquired new resonance during the Paris presentation. Vogue France characterised the lyrics as a manifesto, pointing to the renewed meaning gained by the longtime catalogue favourite decades later.

The surprise performance occurred during Dion’s recent return to the stage. She revealed in late 2022 that she had been diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome, then cancelled tour dates in the next year. Since those developments, her public appearances have attracted attention around the world.
