Rod Stewart announces the end

Rod Stewart, the iconic rock star celebrated for his raspy voice, distinctive hair, and electrifying concerts, has shared bittersweet news with his fans. At 79 years old, Stewart announced on Instagram that his upcoming One Last Time tour will mark the end of his large-scale world tours. However, the legendary performer reassured his followers that this isn’t a retirement, but rather a shift toward more intimate performances.

“This is the end of big world tours for me,” Stewart wrote. “But don’t worry, I’m not retiring. I still love what I do. It’s just time to play in smaller, more intimate venues.” He shared that while his health remains excellent and his trademark hair is still intact, the rigors of globe-trotting and performing in massive arenas no longer align with his vision for the future.

The announcement marks the close of an extraordinary chapter for Stewart, whose unmistakable voice and charisma have graced stages around the world for decades. From rock anthems like “Maggie May” and “Forever Young” to his soulful takes on classics, Stewart has continually evolved as an artist. His versatility has spanned rock, soul, R&B, and even the Great American Songbook, cementing his status as one of music’s enduring legends.

Stewart reflected on his remarkable fitness and vitality, humorously noting, “I’m fit, have a full head of hair, and can run 100 meters in 18 seconds at the jolly old age of 79.” Yet despite his energy, he’s ready for a change, envisioning a future filled with smaller, more personal performances. He teased fans with the possibility of a Great American Songbook or Swing Fever tour in the coming years, though he playfully added, “But then again, I may not…”

The One Last Time tour will span the U.S. and Canada, starting in March in Austin, Texas, and concluding in St. Louis in August. This final large-scale tour offers fans one last opportunity to experience the magic of Stewart’s live performances on a grand stage. While it marks the end of an era, his commitment to music and connection with his audience ensures that his influence will continue to shine in new and exciting ways.
