Travis Decker heard in new audio before allegedly murdering 3 daughters

The moment Travis Decker begs a judge to allow him to spend more time with the three daughters he is now accused of killing has been captured on new audio.

The bodies of Paityn, 9, Evelyn, 8, and Olivia Decker, 5, were found close to the Rock Island Campground in Chelan County, causing tragic reports to surface in early June.

According to distressing court documents, the three girls’ bodies were discovered with plastic bags over their heads and zip-tied wrists. Travis Decker, their father, is still at large.

Authorities are conducting a thorough search for Decker, who is accused of one count of kidnapping and three counts of first-degree murder. They are hoping that the public can help them find him.

Previous reports have suggested that 32-year-old Decker is using his military training to hide, and some have even suggested that he may have scouted a hiding place before carrying out the atrocity. After serving in Afghanistan in 2014, Decker joined the National Guard in Washington.

After local officials stated they needed help, federal authorities reportedly took over the search on June 8.

According to Fox News, the statement stated, “We had reached a point where we need to rest our local resources.” “CCSO leadership, however, continues to take the lead in the criminal investigation and is still heavily involved in search coordination.”

Due to his deteriorating mental health, Decker had cut back on his visitation time with his three daughters in recent years. In order to reduce Travis’ visitation time, Decker’s ex-wife Whitney and her attorney had claimed that the girls were in danger.

A judge decided in September 2024 that Whitney would have almost complete custody of the daughters. Every other weekend, Travis was permitted to spend a certain amount of time with his daughters.

The fugitive father begged the family court judge to allow him to see his kids more frequently in recently made public audio.

“I already only get to spend two days and two nights with my daughters,” he remarked.

It’s Friday night, Saturday night, and I’m working in Idaho due to my current job and location. Since I work for the Carpenter’s Union in the United States, I go where the work is, and the new parenting plan essentially eliminates my chances to spend time with the girls when I’m not at work. I believe that I should be able to be there for my daughters and not have to find a way to spend time with them if I have the chance.

In one case, Decker’s daughters were reportedly heard sobbing to their mother on the phone while spending the night at the Wenatchee armory with their father. This was mentioned as one of the grounds for denying Decker overnight custody of the children.

“Given my absence, I don’t think my weekends should be entirely eliminated. We’ve stayed in campgrounds, national forests, and paid campsites with campers each time I’ve had the girls. We have never engaged in any risky or dangerous activities that I wouldn’t want to engage in myself,” Decker stated.

Decker is still being sought after.
