Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face” turns into Polka Face in fun-filled cover by 8-piece German act The Heimatdamisch, and fans can’t believe how good it sounds!

Combining the high-energy dance-pop aesthetic of Lady Gaga with the traditional, rhythmic sounds of Bavarian brass music might initially seem like an unlikely pairing, yet the German eight-piece ensemble known as The Heimatdamisch has proven that it is a truly winning formula. Their imaginative and spirited transformation of Lady Gaga’s massive global hit “Poker Face” into a track they have affectionately dubbed “Polka Face” has captivated a massive international audience, amassing an impressive 1.7 million views online. While Lady Gaga is synonymous with modern dancefloor anthems, the band discovered that the inherent rhythmic drive of traditional polka creates a surprisingly natural and effective fit for the song’s infectious, hook-heavy melody. The arrangement is brilliant, and the vocal delivery brings a breezy, playful vibe that leaves listeners stunned by how well a dancefloor banger functions when reimagined through a brass-heavy lens.

The arrangement itself is a masterclass in musical adaptation, successfully translating punchy, electronic-driven pop production into a rich, brass-heavy sound that feels both authentic and fresh. It is quite a complex task to take a punchy dance-pop hit and convert it into traditional brass music, but The Heimatdamisch certainly made it work with great success. The band’s vocalists bring a breezy, playful energy to the performance, trading lines with a lighthearted rapport that elevates the entire production and seals the deal on this unique cover. This unique approach has resonated deeply with listeners across the internet, who have flooded the video with enthusiastic praise, specifically highlighting the incredibly tight coordination of the brass section and the infectious, genuine joy displayed by the performers throughout the duration of the song.

This viral success is certainly not an isolated incident for The Heimatdamisch, as the group has built a solid reputation for their quirky, creative, and highly entertaining reinterpretations of famous pop and rock tracks. Their cover of “Poker Face” has officially become the third-most popular upload in their catalog. Another standout in their growing collection of viral content is their spirited cover of the AC/DC classic “Highway to Hell.” In that particular performance, the band showcases their impressive versatility by starting the song with a gritty, hard-rock aesthetic before executing a sudden, signature transition into full-blown, high-energy polka. This stylistic pivot has become a hallmark of their engaging live shows and video uploads, proving that their creative vision is consistently successful and highly entertaining for their growing audience.
