11 year old singer jumps on stage with Bon Jovi to perform “Wanted Dead Or Alive” at German music festival

At Bon Jovi’s 2013 concert at the Cannstatter Wasen Festival in Stuttgart, Germany, 11-year-old Marco caught Jon Bon Jovi’s attention from the crowd. His banner challenged Jon to let him join the band onstage for “Wanted Dead Or Alive.” After spotting the request, Jon had the young fan brought up to perform the hit with his favorite band. Video of the encounter subsequently surpassed 2.45 million views on YouTube.

Marco arrived onstage dressed for the occasion, wearing faded jeans, a black band T-shirt and a leather jacket, with an American flag bandana around his neck. Before starting the song, Jon exchanged a few words with his visibly shy guest. The singer, then 51, asked Marco if he knew who Jon was, but the boy answered with an uncomfortable silence.

Jon filled the pause with a joke, telling Marco that he was not Justin Bieber or even Justin Timberlake. The article noted that Jon had nevertheless sold approximately 32 million more records than Timberlake. He then gave the boy a new stage name for the performance, introducing him to the festival audience as “Jon Bon Marco.”

Playing a shiny black acoustic guitar, Jon began the opening riff of Marco’s chosen song. The boy tried several times to take the microphone, only for Jon to hold him off for a few more bars on each occasion. Their brief struggle over the timing became a comic part of the introduction before Jon eventually passed him the mic.
