Snoop Dogg’s Grandkid Who Passed away Lives on in Memory – Meet His 7 Grandchildren

Born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., Snoop Dogg has established a career that goes well beyond music and positions himself as a devoted family man. Snoop has been married to Shante Broadus since 1997. He has four children from a previous relationship: Corde, 30, Cordell, 27, Cori, 25, and Julian, 26.

Snoop’s family has expanded over the years, and he is now a proud grandfather, with a special place in his heart for each grandchild. He is still particularly committed to remembering one deceased grandchild.

Snoop Dogg as a Grandfather and Family Man

While promoting his reality show, “Snoop Dogg’s Father Hood,” in 2007, Snoop offered insights into his family values with the goal of bringing attention to the sometimes-overlooked aspect of hip-hop artists as father figures.

Snoop stressed in an interview with “People” that “I have children, and I always play my music for them.” I enjoy learning about their preferences. I believe I’m young, but they believe I’m old.

“You see ninety percent of those rappers becoming fathers to their kids, even though ninety percent of them grew up without fathers,” he continued, reflecting on his experience as a father. We never receive praise for that. When we reach the level we are at now, we truly become men.

As his family has expanded, the coach for Season 26 of “The Voice” has remained actively involved with them. He rated his own parenting skills as “about a 7-plus” in a 2015 interview with “Today,” acknowledging that there were still certain things he wanted to do better.

Nothing matters more to me than my relationship with my children. It’s a friendship relationship based on my roles as a friend, mentor, and father,” he stated.

Snoop said he intended to adopt a more forgiving stance when questioned about his role as a grandfather, characterizing himself as a “gullible, get-away-with-everything kind of grandpa.”

“It’s just a spark of joy just to look in his eyes and to be able to hold him,” he said when discussing his first experience as a grandparent. I’m grateful that my eldest son made me a grandfather.

The rapper “Boss’ Life” still places a lot of importance on his extended family. In an interview with “The Jennifer Hudson Show” in January 2024, he talked about his grandchildren and how they all call him “Papa Snoop,” a moniker his oldest grandson gave him when he was a little boy.

According to Snoop, “I love all of my grandchildren in the same way, even though they are different in age, range, and size.” Actually, I’m leaving here to head to my oldest [grandson’s] birthday celebration because it’s his birthday today.

He recalled how his oldest grandchild, who had trouble pronouncing “Snoop,” first called him “Papa Noop” before he finally learned how to say his name correctly. Snoop suffered the devastating loss of one grandchild after his family grew, which had a lasting impact on him and his family.

In September 2019, Snoop Dogg’s grandson Kai Love passed away at just 10 days old due to a congenital heart defect. Snoop shared a heartfelt message on social media, reflecting his enduring faith amid his family’s deep sorrow. His mother, Soraya, expressed her pain and the pain of losing her child, but also found purpose in her life.

She inspired her to lead a purposeful life dedicated to wellness, spirituality, and community support. Kai’s legacy inspired Corde and Soraya to establish the Kai Heart Foundation, an organization focused on spreading love and healing through community support. Soraya expressed gratitude for Kai’s guidance and invited community support for future events.
